I am new to preparing 6 PPC brass & I am little confused as to what to trim & turn my new Lapua 220 Russian brass to. I have a .270 chamber in my barrel & not sure what to trim & turn to. I plan on expanding the neck on my new brass to 6mm & trim to 1.5 (which most of my new stuff is anyway) & turn the neck to somewhere between .267 or .268 before fire forming. Is this correct? Any advice on initial preparation of this brass would be greatly appreciated.

When I was shooting a 6PPC .270ND, I trimmed my cases to .268, and used a .266 sizing button.

George,
It depends on what bullets you are using or you intend to use.
I would neck turn to 0.0119 per side for overall of between .267 to .2673. This will let you use pretty much any bullets that are available, whether they are BT or FB.
As for case length what is your chamber length? I personally don't trim until cases are fire-formed a couple of times in my chamber, then I trim to around 0.020 to 0.030 less than chamber length dimension. In my case 1.515 chamber length and trim to 1.490

Thank you Rob for the link & Michael for your help & recommendations, it is much appreciated. I am using Berger 65 gn BT target bullets & my chamber length is 1.518 but I have been advised to use 1.515.
Thanks again.
