I have a new barrel on my 6PPC and am going to try AR2219. Has anyone used this powder? Is it any better than BM-2? I use BM2 in another 6PPC of mine so im just trying something different in this new one.
I have used a fair bit of it over the years - as stated it is H322 in the USA, but made here in Oz.
Start with 28.7 gns behind any good BR bullet and work up from there to find a sweet spot.
In most of my barrels it doesn't really start working until you go over 29 grains.
Resist the temptation to overload (29.5+ grains) as you will come unstuck with accuracy.
Also, if the temperature goes over 32 degrees you may have to adjust back a bit.
Thanks for that info Brendan, I was going to start at 26.5 and go up in .5gn's to 28, but you reckon 29.5 is about max? I might rethink my weights and start at 28 and go up in 0.3 gn's to 29.2ish. My barrel is a Bartelin 14 twist using Barts 68gn's moly coated. Good idea or not?
2219 is modern day H322 in the USA. It will work fine in a 6ppc. Of the 2 powders, I prefer BM2, but you may well get great results from 2219.
Thanks for your reply Fergus, i went and fire formed my brass yesterday. Now ill start some powder/seating depth tests and see how it goes.

Are you running a BR action? If not, those loads might be a bit hot.
Stolle Panda Fergus.
Yeah that should work in the 14 twist.
Moly no problem, I have used it for years.
