That wasn't helpful. Which one is the best?
Eley tests thousands of rounds and must have an idea which one they prefer.
I know, I know they can't say because they would put the others out of business.

Barrels

I have no Idea of what barrels Eley uses to test ammo during manufacturing, and would not hazard a guess on what they prefer.

That being said, the Shilen and the Muller barrels appear most dominate here.
This has nothing to do with Eley, but if it helps, I can say with absolute certainty that the rifle in the photo with Paul has a Muller barrel.

Aside from this, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone coming to the Triple Crown. From what I hear, we have about 15 international shooters signed already. Should be a great time.

That's pretty late from Eley. The same information has been available for almost ten years and discussed widely amongst world shooters Bill. When are we going to get an Eley test range in Australia. That would certainly be new news.

Test range

Yes Bill we are lucky that way. An Eley test range would probably cost more than it would return.

I was speaking to the boss of Eley Andrew I think his name was at the Triple Crown in 2017
Actually didn't know who he was just thought he was an english shooter
Anyway when he eventually let me know who he was and I asked that very same question
He told me we weren't simply big enough market to get one loved his honest reply .
That may have changed in the last year but don't really think so.

Iv'e had a pretty passive year will end it that way, Merry Xmas

U guys can be very hard markers i don't see much else from anyone else let alone any other ammo companies, Eley should be congratulated and thanked for their attempts to grow the sport, give back to the sport and fight back to a quality of ammo that is as good if not better than the others, anyway some newbies may find this interesting. and some updated info FYI Andrew no longer works for Eley Ben and Brett decided against another year of sponsorship as he would rather be able to pick and choose from all brands, there is a new CEO called Mark and he is real keen on growing benchrest, I will let the new 2018 ammo do the talking.

Don't get me wrong

I am presently testing as Eley much as I can afford to test
Tested 8 batches of Tenex and 3 Batches of Match as the rest of the Match batches haven't arrived at gun shop yet
But Lapua new batches are also coming in March so who knows what will shoot best?

Andrew seemed like a pretty decent bloke when I spoke to him maybe I will get to meet Mark at the Triple Crown next year.
But either way it is not personal to me at all, just want the best ammo for the rifle.

The ammo companies continue to up the price way past inflation so they are not that worried about me either just our money.
Thats business on a global scale, certainly isn't personal
I like everyone just want the best ammo that we can find because its this games fuel.

No one is directing anything at you Bill as a personal attack whilst talking about ammo, well not that I know anyway.
Merry Christmas mate catch you at the comps

All good Ben

Both companies will be at the Wrabf World Champs so The Australian Team will be able to have a chat with them. I have not tried my new Tennex yet but heard Robin Cox got a great result in the Sisc Test Tunnel with the same batch....

Testing Eley

A test tunnel won't do us in Newcastle any good at the moment.
We ordered a case and a half, as soon as it arrived, all full bricks to make it easy for Nioa and it still isn't here.
Can't test what you don't have.

Gee that's seems a bit late Kim

Have u followed up Greg Stevens or do u want me to, who did you order it through ? Maybe the storms have held up the deliveries though as i understand it guys in Brisbane and Melbourne have theirs delivered, mine was a little late but arrived via Reindeer last week ?

Sorry Kim but we have already

Sorry Kim but we have already tested all the ammo and purchased all the good lots.
Actually the last bit isn't true but we did get our lots about a couple of weeks ago
Probably because NIOA has its main complex in Brisbane and because its so close to Christmas, the post is probably swamped?

Hope you find some great ammo for your rifle.

Price

Who has the best price for Eley match?
If the lots test ok then it would be worth traveling for three or four cases.
