Lithgow Crossover Rimfire

Hello all
Just wondering if anyone out there has put their hands on one of these rifles. I'm interested in using the action in a new build and would like to hear some feedback on how well they work etc.
Cheers Mick

Yes

Yes Bill it's going to be for light class etc. I've been thinking about using one ever since they came out but I haven't seen them in person yet to make my mind up. I remember seeing your post about them on WWA and how they totally ignored it. Maybe they thought it was a joke.

Nice

Austin Healey Sprite..........NICE but I'd still prefer a SLR5000 Torana mate. Good luck on the project and keep us updated on it's progress hey.

Mick Very we'll made with PAS

Mick
Very we'll made with PAS type firing pin and 90 degree sear trigger. Tennon is the same thread as a Brno but a little longer, trigger needs work but I've heard 8ozs can be done.

If there was a good after market trigger available it would just be a matter of screwing in a proper barrel, put a heavier FP spring in and we'd all have one but the trigger is the problem.

Dreams

Bill that's one thing they can't take away from us, our dreams.

Peter, it sounds as if you know someone that has been fooling with them from the info you just shared. Brian Mitchell isn't building one is he? I remember reading that somewhere.

MickBrian's 3 lug is

Mick

Brian's 3 lug is different it's a LV and I think it will be Brisbane in July. Brian is the first test a 3 lug in the tunnel at Cecil Park and going by what Kim said about the results a 3 lugger might be the way forward.

Hi Mick

I have been looking at these as well and they come in a left hand version which is good for me - price is ok as well

It will be alot of fun trying to make it shoot -the threaded action is good news, and i have plenty of left over stock

Left over stocks

Hi Will.
That's not good news. I was hoping there was going to be a whole new market for me.
I could get the whole thing CNCd if there was enough of them and that would make the inleting much easeier and more precise

Just had an idea. Should we send one to Calfee for an assessment. He can tell us if it is any good without even trying it,
Better still ask Brian, he's already done an assessment.
Well Brian what's the verdict?

Never been a fan of light

Never been a fan of light triggers, Kim - anything under 8oz is good with me.

Nice

Nice group there Brian. What brand barrel are you using? Also was it easy to remove the original barrel off the action.

Project Lithgow 101

Hi All,

Project Lithgow 101 - Barrel is a Broughton 5C in an Alloy RTM stock; Action is stock – no changes; Ammo R50 S-C (in stock at SISC).

Suggest you try before you buy and while you’re there look at the other results on the door and use the excellent facilities provided by SISC and staff.

SISC

The staff are very good and the test tunnel is first class.
The smallest group will be on the door for a very long time. There are some other very good groups there as well.
If you havnt used this facility and your not sure how good your gun will shoot this takes all the human error out of the equation.

what was the verdict on the

what was the verdict on the Lithgows?

GJS
101 crossover

Out of the box they vary a lot, I've shot a couple of very good ones but mine was very average. I bought mine for the action and put a sporter profile Ratchet on it. It took 1st and 3rd in The NSW Hunter a few years ago. (2017)
The trigger is about 8 oz but useable.
