Garnet

I have a question to ask. Now that I've nominated for 3 rimfire classes, the weight carrying so much gear on the plane is starting to concern me. I'm very attached to my Lenzi back bag but it weighs a ton. An option would be to tip out the garnet from the body of the bag but I will only do that if garnet was available on the range. It would be returned before I leave to fly back to WA.

This is commonly done overseas for world champs not so much for local Aus comps. I would suggest u could empty your bag and readily buy some sand in Sydney at Bunnings to do a cheap temporary fill here. Or u bring one bag and share it in your lanes ?

Garnet

Maureen. I’m sure the host range could supply you with some garnet it is readily available at Bunnings as sandblasting sand.

Not really Kim

As there is no host club or range in this case, 2023 is all my volunteers who have stepped up to help and they are also all shooting.

Maureen please take my suggestion on board that you can buy sand easily yourself or talk to Barry and Fran who are on your lanes about sharing bags/rests etc.

I've had a very kind offer

I've had a very kind offer from Brett Wilson who will have garnet at the range for me. He has offered to help the West Aussies with anything else we require.

You're a champ Brett.

Weight

Bill can you advise if the bipod in the new rules would be weighed with the rifle?
Kim

If bipod it's attached to the rifle will part of the rifle like scope or any other and if not tomorrow I'll attache

Bill

Sorry Bill could you please explain it, because to use a bipod on the bench have to be attached to the rifle and the moment of shoot bipod is fixed to the stock yes or not ???? When we shoot in the convencional maner as the rule rifle can't be attached to the frontrest In any form, let me know please if I'm wrong.
Robert

bill collaros
bill collaros's picture
Pretty simple

The rule is intended to make front rest an easier option. It is not to create a new weight issue. At the RBA National we will not weigh the bi pod if somone wants to use it. Unless we are told otherwise by the WRABF

It is not simple

It is not simple, you try to tell me now that a rifle wich are at the limit of permited weight by the rules shooter can ad an extra weight with a bipod !!!!! What about others shooters wich don't have permision to ad extra weight just because they are using convencional rest by the rules. Just I can't believe it can be possible. I'm so sorry Bill but is so ease pass the ball to others.
Robert

bill collaros

I have explained the rule clearly not passing it to others or anyone... good night

Further news for RBA Nationals

Wrabf have comfirmed above rule changes are immediate.

I also wish to advise that i will be running this event and not shooting it.

My International shooting days are done after 15 amazing years.

So it is better for me to concentrate on running the event smoothly while u guys, girls and juniors concentrate on qualifying.
