Great opportunity to shoot on World Championship range

This is a great opportunity to shoot on the 2015 World championship range.
In a friendly atmosphere, you will be made very welcome
Should be a fun couple of days shooting.
Huts for accommodation are literally a hop skip and a jump away from range.
Food is always great and very reasonably priced.
Free tea and coffee.

The accommodation at QRA is booked out

I received a message yesterday from Peter that the accommodation at the range has been mostly booked out by a school group.
This is really unfortunate but nothing can be done as it is a first come first serve basis.
There are many hotels etc in the Brisbane area which can be looked up on Hotels combined etc.
http://www.hotelscombined.com.au/SearchResults.aspx?languageCode=EN&curr...
Or in the past I have noticed that some guys bring there swags/sleeping bags and sleep in the club house which has toilets ,showers etc
I will check to see if this is ok today.
Short of this there is always camping facilities on site.
kind regards Ben

Ladys and Gentleman, Boys and Girls

Roll up ,Roll up to a fun and friendly shoot.
Get in and register for this match if you would like to come.
The range will be ready and the stage set for a great fun match.
In Queensland we aren't used to being beaten by NSW your all welcome to come and have a go.
Like Normy says "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then".
Might even help with getting ready for next years farewell Comp Bill is getting organised.
Now that will be some Competition the best in the whole world competing on this same range.
You can't be fully prepared without match practice though, so here is as good a chance as you will get.

kind regards Ben

Good luck to all

Good luck to all all today, I hope the wind is kind.
A report at the end of the day for those of us that could not make it would be nice.
Regards Brett

Windy

Brett
The report is it is blowing 30 to 50 km. If you hold on the six ring on the left side you are getting carted to the 6 ring on the right side. Some have missed the grandel altogether. You will see by the scores when put up.

Good day to fly kites.

Windy as all right

That wind is no friend of mine thats for sure.
The good shooters are coming through though with John Radford in the lead ,nearly shooting a 248 but he put two in one target.
They were both tens as well and probably dots.
John Platzwald is coming second , Barry H and jaegen third ,Normy fourth I think.
Sorry I forgot to take a result list with me as I was busy rubbing my arse from the kicking they give me.
Tough day at the range.
kind regards Ben
Will post up results after I get home tomorrow .

Awesome shoot! Gotta thank

Awesome shoot! Gotta thank John Patswald. I was hanging my target on saturday for Round 2 and he says to me
"you know you score more points if you hang them around the other way."
I was hanging it with the air rifle side facing out :O
Good onya mate !!

Other than that, after a post by the Jet above, I think we had a couple of paleontologists from QLD museum sniffing around on Sunday. Seems they got wind of a new species at the site.
The Bennysaurus (Ben-ee-sore-ass) is a hitherto unknown species that seems to be sighted at various eastern seaboard locations when conditions are usually windy or of poor visibility. It has been long rumoured to exist within the rimfire fraternity, and many have claimed sightings of the erratic movements of its upper appendages followed by a series of loud squawkings. Its assumed migratory pattern probably means that we should be on the lookout near Toowoomba and possibly Lismore later this month. If anyone can get a picture of this beastie in action then we can move it from the realms of Mermaids and Yowies to something more definitive like Bigfoot and Aliens.

The "yea babys" were rarer than any "new creature sighting" I can tell you that for sure.
I just couldn't get my head around that wind and its push ,till the last couple of cards
Even then Normy was storming the leader board thats why he didn't notice the Didyouthinkhesawus
That fabled blind dinosaur
Digs the above mentioned still didn't feel much better on Sunday night than Saturday.
I tell you one thing I was happy to get to see on the weekend though was Pete Armstrong's gun case.
That thing is a work of art , really its the Ferrari of gun cases.
Special thanks to Les Flood for sacrificing his shooting and scoring on the weekend didn't hear one complaint
Ray for doing a great job range officer and the wind for making it a really hard but memorable event.
Roll on Brisbane RBA next year and World Championships
O yes and theres a new shooting team in town. Team KAOS

Would have loved to be there

Would have loved to have been there but alas family illness took me to Townsville.
Have just arrived home after a month of caring for two cancer patients the surgeons are great and do a wonderfull job. But those that have to have Chemo and radiation the cure is near worse than the cancer.
So hopefully now i can get back to shooting and be in Brisbane for Feb Nationals
Bob
And congrats to John and other who did well.
