Turbo too good at TRA nationals

Yes very wet and windy today and so far only one 600 shot and it was a 600.54 shot by a Turbo.

2 day results looks like me1st, Kim 2nd and maybe Bec 3rd.

Dave

As it stands the current national champions in IRB, Hunter class, RBA 3 gun and TRA all won using a Turbo. I know what action you are getting next.

I think I will look at a 3lug

I think I will look at a 3lug like Brian's. Half the price of a Turbo and just as good.

BenOn the electronic targets

Ben
On the electronic targets each scoring ring is broken up in 10 so if had a shot that just gauged a 10 it would score 10.0 if it was dead centre it scores 10.9 at this match they used the decimal system and counted all the decimal numbers too. As a few people found out it wasn't about how many 10's you had, it was about who had the smallest best centred group. I think it would be far to say this is the ultimate accuracy game in rimfire BR and because you can't go back to your sighter or use proper flags it tougher than ARA or PSL.

To give you an idea how well the Turbo shot, at the Eley test tunnel they measure the 40 shot group and what the score would be on electronic targets. The Eley test range record is a 12.4 mm group and a score of 427.7 on the Friday my first 40 shots were 424.4 on Saturday 422.6 and I did mine in the wind.

Hi Ben.
The scoring system is different. If you drop a shot and the other guy doesn't you can still beat him.
Not as sudden death as normal scoring. BUT you need to shoot as close to the middle as you can for all your shots and if you shoot a 9.9 it's not the end of the world because it's only. .1 off a 10

Thanks guys

But I shoot TRA every second tuesday night at QRA range
Barry beat me out in the final, shoot out for the Qld TRA comp by doing exactly what Kim said.
He dropped one shot and I didn't but he consistantly shot higher scores
Barry shot better than I did so he deserved to win.
I was just glad to finally shoot better again ,we have some fine shooters in QLD but it seems that NSW
Though I hate to say it are winning the show at the moment
With great competition everyone wins
So when you say that people shot 600 is that a decimal score or did they not drop a bull ?
We shoot both ways points plus dots and decimal scores.
kind regards Ben
Still Peters performance has to be an Australian record isn't it?

Ben

This how they score the prone these days on electronic targets. It was new to me too I didn't hear about decimal scoring until I got there on the 2nd day, on the first day I thought it was about 10 & X's

When they update the electronic targets at Brisbane you'll have decimal scoring too.

Sorry Pete

I am a bit worried about what I type sometimes
We do have this type of scoring at Brisbane and I think it is probably the most accurate scoring you can get in one respect.
That said I still love to shoot paper as there is no doubt about where you hit.
This just shows to me that what you mean when you type on forums etc ,can be read different to what you meant.
Sorry for the confusion guys.

Ben
As far records go, the one I like the best is one you won't see recored anywhere. But I'm the first shooter to have won all the score type nationals held in Australia, RBA, IRB, Hunter and TRA and might be a while before someone else can equal it.

Kim
I'm not sure I'll be at Brisbane latter in the year, but if I'm there it'll only be for IRB.

If national results were used as a ranking, with a win and 2nd at different nationals, you would be the top Falcon shooter in Oz.
