Communication

This forum is a great service provided to us by Rob.
It's a great place to learn from what others are doing and to tell others what you are doing.
Why don't we use it at least a little bit. I know there are lots of people who look at what I write and have an opinion so why not say what you think. I have thick skin if you want to have a dig and I won't be offended. But it's not all about me. The forum is for all but it is way under utilised.
Thanks Rob for this service that you provide us at no cost and I hope people will use it more.

Kim I do agree with what you

Kim I do agree with what you say ,I lurk and pick up info here and there, I don't post much as I my opinion is worth what you pay for it and there are far more experienced people here that me.I also see reference made to other site's with regards to disagreeing with what is sometimes said,in light of that I don't always sit, read and agree with all the posts on here, I also don't want to disagree and be poo, poohed for doing so.

Same here

Same the world over Kim. The UK forum is quite as a church mouse and the Yank forums don't seem much better, even the demise of WWA hasn't perked the others up.

Big(ish) match in France next month, Triple Crown and the WRABF world championships looming, you would think there would be plenty of banter.

Hi Brian.
Well you just proved my point about lots of lookers. This forum is seen worldwide it seems and that's a good thing. Is it, that no one wants to share there tricks and ideas incase somone picks up on a idea and beats them.

Annoying

I think there maybe some truth in what you say, if so, personally, I find it very annoying.

I’m happy to share information with anyone (often whether they want it or not), and frequently do (purchased and sold a great barrel to one of the Italians last year, did the same for one of the French guys).

It is frustrating when you know that information is being put to good use and yet there is no return on the input (both the Italian and French shooters kept me in the loop).

I made a stock for a yank

I made a stock for a yank once. Did it cheap because I thought it might get me in the market. Didn't hear jack about it, could be firewood for all I know. Nice to get feedback from a customer good or bad. If it's bad then you need to know and you can do somthing about it.

Kim There are not that many

Kim
There are not that many from Oz who post on any of the forums around the world so why would it be any different here?

Most know exactly what action, barrel and gunsmith etc I use, yet some still think I'm keeping secrets and others think I don't have a clue and people should only lister to them. So one reason most don't say a lot is because no matter what you say, someone is going to say you are wrong.

Brian
What is the match coming up in France?
Not much talk about the Triple Crown so far and a few from the US are not going to Brisbane and not a word anywhere about that either, it just quite everywhere.

Quite

Hi Peter,

At Thionville, same as last year, 29th to 31st May. Good turn out so far, 47 shooters, so should get a little over 50 on the day. That includes nine of the French FFtir team, so should be fun.

Yes, very quite on the Triple Crown front, you’d think they would be shouting the odds by now.

BrianSounds like things are

Brian

Sounds like WBSF (IRB) side of things are going forward in Europe and I see that match is back on in Portugal again next year, where in Portugal is the range??

It will be interesting at the Triple Crown and still room for you if you wanted to go. Sounds like I will be supplied with a nice 3 lug Turbo with good ammo to use, so it will be fun.

Fun

Spot on Kim. I’ve been getting myself a motorhome and working towards retiring at the end of this year. Touring around the competitions in Europe is most definitely on the cards.

The Portugal competition is near Lisbon Peter, that is certainly on the list for next year, as is the 12hr marathon at Dijon (8 x cards in one day), those lads are plum crazy.

You should try and get a crew together for next year, the Thionville International one weekend and the Dijon Open the next, plenty of shooting for everyone.

WBSF

Hi Ben, it’s actually a WBSF target (slightly smaller rings than the World target) I shot at Thionville last year, 250 22x.

There was some talk at the time (by Mr. Calfee) that it may be a world record, not that it matted to me and in any case a French guy shot a 250 23x a couple of weeks ago :(

Brian Yes the WBSF targets

Brian
Yes the WBSF targets are based on the French target that are a wee bit smaller than the other mob.

Two weekends in France sounds good, but the Triple Crown should be my last overseas trip. I haven't paid for a plane ticket to an overseas match since Italy 2008 and if I'm offered another trip who knows, but at the moment I think the Triple Crown will be my last shooting trip and not having to drag guns and ammo along will make it eaiser trip too.

Sighters

Brian.
That's my kind of shooting, six Sighters. I don't like to waist good bullets on Sighters

Amble

Ahhh, got it now Bill.

Yes Kim, not one to waste ammo that French lad. The sign of some nice shooting conditions I think.

Air travel doesn’t appeal to me at all now Peter, a steady amble around Europe stopping a couple of days here and there sounds more attractive.

Brian There are plenty of

Brian
There are plenty of retired people down here who just travel around the country in their camper vans, we call them grey nomads. I think doing it in Europe would be great.

Sad there's only 16 coments. But that's better than none.
Keep up the good work.

Pikey

We call them Pikey’s over here Peter (Gypsies). I’ll be taking my Bull Terrier with me, so might be able to earn a few bob on the side :)

Middle daughter is off to the US next week, first port of call is Memphis, not to far away from Kettlefoot. Looks like the temperature is getting up to just below 30, going to be warm for the Triple Crown.

While it’s on my mind, what do you think of these three lug actions Mr. T has come up with, they certainly look the business. You have to give him credit, he does seem to know his stuff.

I see WWA is back on line, can't keep a good man down!!!

Brian

Brian I'm not sure about that

Brian
I'm not sure about that action, I'd want to see a photo of the bolt striped.
Also It could just be the photo but I'd like to see it without the barrel stub screwed in, something doesn't look right there, but it could just be the photo.

Still looks a little cool at Bristol, most days are below 70F
