Excess baggage and sending some of our gear early!

Hi All,
I thought I would start this new thread to inform you what I have found out over the last week.
*** Qantas baggage Allowance is now 23kg for International flights
*** Excess baggage on Qantas Flights is charged at $50 per Kilo to Sth Africa
*** It was mentuioned to me that this maybe policed a little more now that the allowance has gone up.
We can send Unaccompanied baggage for around $6-$8 per kilo plus fees.
Example if you send a 30kg piece prior it will cost you around $200-$220
If you get charged when you arrive at the Airport it will cost you $1500
It is something to think about for all of us.
Maybe we need to freight our gear
