Warwick Valentine - RIP

Some of the older Silverdale crew will remember Warwick.

He shot some benchrest back in the old days.

He was a friend of mine for 40 years, and we did quite a lot of business together as well.

He only learned of his advanced cancer in the last week, and passed away early this morning.

I will miss him.

Rob.

Wow - that's a bit of a shock

Wow - that's a bit of a shock.
I remember Warwick (one of two Valentine's that shot BR) - he was a nice bloke.
Condolences to his family.

Warwick Valentine - RIP

So sorry to hear of Warwick's sudden and untimely passing and like Rob knew him for 40+ years. Saw Warwick regularly before we left Sydney as his factory complex was only a few kilometres from our home.
Warwick was a long time member of SSAA and not only shot Benchrest in a mixture of classes but Field rifle, competing at the highest level and doing it well. 1976 Super Shoot #1 won 100 yard aggregate and Top 10 in Heavy, 1976 and 1977 Nationals 2nd in Centrefire Hunter both times, 4th Rimfire Benchrest 1977 Nationals and 13th in National Centrefire Field Rifle plus many more accolades in regional and State events.
These endeavours were then on the back burner so he could concentrate on his two priorities - raising his 3 beautiful daughters as a single Dad and growing his business to cement their future being integrated into and running the family concern.
Warwick's business acumen and work ethic were admirable - with humble beginnings with a bucket and mop soliciting door to door to culminating in a sought after and respected establishment specialising in difficult tasks like forensic cleaning, having a NATA accredited lab and manufacturing top grade chemicals.

The last time I spoke with Warwick he told me as the girls were now well adjusted adults and an integral part of the family business he was looking to step back a little and was even contemplating coming back to shooting.

Condolences to his adored girls and their families.

Rest in peace Warwick
