2017 Southern Cross 600yd - 1000yd BR Championships.

2017 Southern Cross 600 yard - 1000 yard BR Championships

This year, due to increased interest and nominations, we have had to change the date of the SCC.

Since 2012 we have scheduled the SRC-SCC for mid July each year, but for the 2017, the SCC and the 600yd BR lead up event will be held between the 17th and 20th of August 2017.

By running the match in late August, hopefully the extra daylight will allow us and extra 2 details, with an associated total increase of total competitor numbers from 40 to 50.

On Thursday the 17th of August, for the first time, an IBS 600yd BR Championship Match will be held.

Saturday the 19th of August and Sunday the 20th of August have been scheduled for the 1000yd Southern Cross Benchrest Championships.

The range will be available for practise, sighting, flag erection on the Wednesday the 16th of August and Friday the 18th of August.

Although numbers always fluctuate, at the moment we have approximately 45 nominations.

Once again, we are indebted to ExtraVision and Optimus Projectiles for their ongoing sponsorship and support.

To nominate for the SCC, phone (0268892141), pm, or email

Should nominations exceed the 50 limit, additional nominations will be placed on a reserve list.

Range location –Approx. 28km west of the Shell Roadhouse roundabout Dubbo on the Mitchell Highway. Approx. 10km east of Narromine. Range is adjacent to the Webb’s Siding railway crossing.

Mound and numbers can be easily seen on the southern side of the highway.

if a Narromine Dubbo LRBR Information pack is required (containing accommodation - match organisation details etc),

PS - thankfully, in contrast to the 1000yd BR Rules situation, the NRAA has adopted and legitimised the IBS 600 yard BR rules without alteration.

Should any clubs require samples of the latest 40% IBS 600yd BR targets, please make contact via email or telephone.
