Benchrest Discipline Rule Book No.10

The new Benchrest rule book covering all disciplines within the one book is now available to be downloaded from the SSAA website.

https://www.ssaa.org.au/disciplines/all-disciplines/benchrest/ go to downloads and you will see the new rule book

I would urge anyone who competes in any of the disciplines to download the rules and have a look as this book and understand the rules. It has had the most clarifications and minor updates most likely for 10-15years.

It is advisable to do the following in ADOBE, add forward and back buttons (next view and previous view) This allows you to use the "blue" hyperlinks to quickly navigate the book.
See attached photo showing how to add extra buttons to Adobe.

If you have questions you can post them hear and I am sure either the Benchrest Chairman, one of the delegates or myself will be able to answer or clarify anything you may ask.

I am sure John Babic (Benchrest Chairman) will announce what date full compliance will be from.

Their are other forms for Records, Protest lodgement, Benchrest Awards that will be added to the downloads very soon. Until they are available just ask either the Benchrest Chairman or your State delegate for the appropriate form.

IRB RULES

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your post on the rules. I've just had a look at IRB and it still states 30 minutes for a target when it was changed to 20 minutes a while ago. Are you able to look into it please?

Kind regards
Maureen Edwards

Rule 7.8.1 States 20 minutes

Maureen
Are you sure? The copy I sent and I just downloaded from SSAA website says 20 mins for IRB and 30 min break between targets which is valid for all classes.
Not something I believe was changed or even discussed.
Is it 7.8.1 you’re referring too or somewhere else?

Regards
Michael

Had another look

It's in the description, not the rules

BR Rule Book #10

Maureen
The section you are referring to is not in the Rule Book but part of the SSAA descriptions.

This oversight is entirely due to the magazine's error as that part of the web site is compiled by magazine office. Can advise that on 25.11.2018 David Billinghurst received copy of what AS were proposing for the write up you refer to from Natalie Kuhlmann - Graphic designer.
David immediately noted incorrect descriptions - 5 of to be exact including the one you are referring to and on 26.11.2018 emailed the amendments. It appears David's email was ignored and the corrections never made. Should BR Committee wish to have copy of David's email can probably dredge it up.

New rules start date

Do we have a date the new rules take over, I would love to only pack one set of flags for the IRB next week and move them between targets.

Rulebook

Brett,

My understanding is the rule book is now being used.
That is what John announced tonight.
Cheers
Michael
