What is the current thinking on these.
I was going to cut a cone, are there any drawbacks to doing this?
I have done it both ways on my rifles, the barrel I have just fitted for somebody else I did a cone, I find them easier to cut and more importantly if you are going to use Eley ammo the cone give somewhere for all the extra wax to go that comes off as you load them into the chamber.
The doiwnside of a cone is that the thin-ness of the metal and that makes it more susceptable to damage. Be very certain your firing pin can not read it, and always use a quality bore guide and you will not have any problems.
Pity I am not shooting RBA next weekend so I could have met you but maybe at RBA nationals or IRB in November.
If this thing shoots ok (and I can learn how to shoot it!) I might plan on those matches as well!
