On behalf of the Hornets Club in Brisbane (Hornets Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest Club Inc) we would like to announce a special event which we will hold on November 14th and 15th 2020.
We wish to invite all Rimfire Benchrest shooters from other organisations too and will accept TRA, SSAA and QRA memberships for this event.
Since our RBA Nationals has been cancelled those event dates were still available in the BICS calendar (Brisbane International Shooting Centre). So we have decided to use the dates for something different. To bring everybody to gather together for fun and fellowship and Rimfire Benchrest Shooting.
This unique event combines the targets and styles from 3 different Rimfire Benchrest competitions in Australia and therefore we are calling this "The Hornets Triple Crown".
The IRB, TRA and RBA.
3 x targets on the IRB (WBSF) cards on Saturday afternoon 14th. 75 record shots plus sighters.
1 x 60 shot match (plus sighters) on the TRA electronic target system (ISSF Smallbore) under lights on the Saturday night
3 x targets on the RBA (WRABF) cards on Sunday morning. 75 record shots plus sighters
Full details on PDF and also online entry at our Hornets Club website here: https://hornetsbenchrest.com.au/
We are trying to subsidise costs a bit and keeping entry fees as low as possible. Therefore a single event fee of $50. Also we hope to gather some prizes and sponsorship to add into the mix of fun. Any offers are extremely welcome.
We cannot predict if the QLD borders will be open to NSW and Vic shooters by next month, but shooters from the southern States may wish to enter anyway.
Obviously full refunds if cannot attend due to border closures.
NB: This event is not a sanctioned or a registered event of any of the 3 organizations. So no records etc could apply. It is all Heavy Rifle Rimfire class but we won't be conducting a weigh in either so if your rifle is heavy..... it's OK.
There are great accommodation options right on the range and within walking distance. Caravans, Camping, motel units and self contain houses. Please arrange this yourself directly with the QLD Rifle Assoc here:-https://qldrifle.com/accommodation.
We have a COVID safe approved plan in place for the facility and our Club. Also an approved COVID Safe catering plan for Hornets. Which means amongst other things the 1.5m social distancing applies, except "in the field of play". This mean when actually shooting on the firing line. We had these same things in place with our successful hosting of the QLD State RBA Championships last July. Obviously and importantly ANYONE who is not feeling well prior to the event should not attend.
So please bring your smile and friendly attitude and lets bust the boredom!
Lets go shoot.

President.
