TRA RBA NATIONALS PROCEDURES

TRA RBA NATIONALS

Hi everyone, i have been asked to list some notes for everyone especially people that have not been to Sydney International Shooting Centre.

1. There are chairs for every bench if u do not want to carry your stool.

2. Cleaning will occur on dedicated tables away from the firing line.

3. You can store rifles on site overnight and during the events we have the whole range so there is plenty of space to store your gear behind the firing line.

4. Only shooters in the current detail will be allowed on the ground level firing line, all others can sit in the grand stand seating or the central seating and eating areas

5. Wailing wall will be above the firing line on the top level so the shooters on the line can not hear your joyous cheers or sad crying when u look at the targets.

6. You are required to sign in each day and pay the range fee directly at tee SISC counter upon entry, we have requested extra staff from 7.30am each morning to help ease congestion.

7. All presentations will be early Sunday afternoon once RF HV is completed on the main range.

8. Flag heights area an issue with the low frames at SISC, we use common sense and have flag to the side of the targets and yes they may be a little higher than the rules allow but we have to work with what we have. You need to make sure your tails are not too long and do not come across your target or the one next you as that will not be allowed. NO STEEL POLES ARE ALLOWED THEY MUST BE ALLOY OR WOOD

I look forward to seeing you all there in a few weeks.

I don’t know if you know about this but there is a new rule at SISC you must take your rifle to the firing line in the gun case and take it out of the gun case at the bench. I played nice and asked exactly where they wanted me to place the gun case and I was told they want it on the bench, and I pointed out that I can’t put my gun on the bench until I have my rest and bags setup and then there is not enough room for the gun case, so I ask again where should I place the gun case and they don’t know.

Could be interesting next week and I’ll leave it with you.

PS I like this idea of a early bench draw I’ve been practicing for weeks on 6 , 16 and 26

Thanks for that, that will not be the case for our competition as we have the whole range booked out. So our range officers will run things as we all know.. being, Rifles must be locked and cased behind the line, when called to the line, shooters can grab the rifle with bolt out and breach flag in and bring it to the line without the case.

REFUNDS

Hi everyone, although numbers are still at record highs we have had a few late withdrawals, please note a lot of work, time and money goes into organising an event like this so after today there will be no more refunds of entry fees as we are less than 1 week out from the event.

Hi Kurt

Steel.pegs have always been fine, they however do not allow steel posts abkve the pegs at SISC. As u say the standard steel ground BRT peg is sleeved by the allow post so no problem.

News from the front

I’m at the range and practice tomorrow will only be on the right hand side with electronic targets, the left hand side on the range is being setup for the match and I’m told at this stage it closes at 2pm on Wednesday.

I’m told it will be open from8am on Thursday and shooting starts at 9am, if anyone has drawn a bench on the left end get some practice on the left side, the wind is a different animal on that end.

I replaced all the stainless parts on my probes with brass and I’m told that is kosher.
